I know most of you will think I am crazy for saying this, but I am so happy to see the snow!! There is something so peaceful about sitting at a stop light and being surrounded by the beauty and tranquility of the snow. I was listening to the radio and I swear for just a moment at that light , the world seemed to stop. It was one of those “Aha”" moments when you just take life in and realize how peaceful simplicity and calmness can be. In today’s world we are all so “plugged in” to every kind of electronic gadget known to man that at times, I think we are actually starting to forget how to compose complete sentences or how to speak without lingo or abbreviated words. We email, Tweet, Facebook, text, blog, etc. but often times we fail miserably when it comes to our verbal communication.
Deep down I honestly think people still want to be talked to, especially when it comes to doing business with a company you are going to spend your hard earned money with. Verbal communication is so powerful and personal; it tends to help eliminate miscommunications that sometimes arise from written communication. It has been a long, ongoing mission of mine here at Davis-Moore to always make sure that our customers feel like they are an extended part of our family. Although a large portion of my job is written communication, there is still nothing I enjoy more then picking up the phone to speak with a customer. Human interaction is valued and I want people to have a “human” experience when they are dealing with myself or anyone here at Davis-Moore. In today’s world of technology, we as a company know we need to be a cut and a half above the rest in order to see the Davis-Moore family continue to grow.
My hope is that each of you reading this feels like they have had that “personal experience” here at Davis-Moore and will continue to be a part of our family for years and years to come. I challenge each of you to take a moment today, shut everything electronic off and just stare out your window. It will allow you for a moment to just be still and remember all the people, places and things in your life that really matter and all the ways you can make a difference in someone’s life. Tonight, go home and make a snow angel, that’s what’s on my agenda after work. After all, how often do we get to do that…..Life is Good!!!!
Until next time…..
Renee
