We are pleased to share that Ford Motor Company has been recognized as one of the world’s most ethical companies by Ethisphere Institute, a leading business ethics think tank. Ford (maker of Lincoln and Mercury vehicles) is one of only 100 global companies – and the only automaker – to be honored on Ethisphere’s annual list, published this morning.
Ford was chosen for this distinction from a field of thousands of companies in more than 100 countries and 36 industries for this year’s list. The criteria included a review of each company’s codes of ethics, litigation and regulatory infraction histories; an evaluation of investment in innovation and sustainable business practices; a look into activities designed to improve corporate citizenship; and input through nominations from senior executives, industry peers, suppliers and customers.
As a company, we have faced historic challenges in the past few years with a strong plan and considerable resolve. Just as our products are gaining momentum in the marketplace and winning an increasing number of buyers new to Ford, it is also important that reputable third parties continue to validate the way we do business.
We are honored to be recognized for the way we do business every day at Ford – for the priority we place on social responsibility, corporate governance, doing business in an ethical way and contributing to a better world. This significant recognition is one we all share – and of which, we should all be proud. This is a clear reflection of your work in making certain that Ford acts responsibly on behalf of all of our stakeholders. So, thank you for your efforts and congratulations to all of you for the role you continue to play in helping Ford to shine.
